Church Retreats
Youth retreats, Father son retreats, Father Daughter retreats, Mother son retreats, Mother daughter retreats, Parenting retreats, Leadership retreats, church retreats, retreat, retreat, retreat……. Regardless of your definition of a church getaway, we enjoy and are honored to have churches come to be our guest.
We have a variety of lodging accommodations including cabins, a Bunk house that sleeps up to 14 and lodge rooms. We also have rustic tent sites, water/ electric tent sites and meeting rooms. There is a lot here to keep folks busy with a Jumping pillow, Laser tag, indoor and outdoor pool with splash pad, Water Balloon battle station, Disc golf, sand volleyball, ½ court basketball and more. There is much to do in the area as well. We are conveniently located ½ Mile to the Guadalupe River, 2 miles to Canyon Lake, and 13 miles to New Braunfels, 35 miles to San Antonio and 45 miles to Austin.
We are very family oriented and are encouraged that many churches have consider us a place of refuge. We are a secular facility but are intentional to operate it and run with a mission to serve with Christian values.
Please read below a note from our friend, Phillip Chesonis.
Dear Mr. Jones,
As a retired pastor, I have had the all too common and often frustrating task of searching out appropriate and inexpensive venues for retreats, conferences, and Christian fellowship. Churches often have need for youth retreats where there are sufficient activities–safe activities–available for teenagers and elementary school age children. One of the unique qualifications for such a place is that you also need to have enough physical space for children to seek out a place where they can simply sit and think, or talk to another teenager, or adult. Such a place must provide both the opportunity for vigorous physical activity and solitude. It is difficult to find both of these available in one venue at a reasonable cost.
Both men’s ministries and women’s ministries also periodically require retreat times and places. Once again, enough space must be available to provide both activity commensurate with the age of the participants and physical opportunities for reflection and meditation.
Every church also seeks to have unique opportunities for fellowship for its congregants. These would include not only the familiar “church picnic,” but also for multiple church congregation gatherings, whether purely for recreation and fellowship, or as a retreat setting to nurture a relationship with Jesus.
Conferences for various levels of church leadership also occasionally require the use of an outside venue. That is, a place besides the local church building.
Yogi Bear Jellystone Hill Country resort provides such an environment and space for churches and their youth ministries, men’s ministries, women’s ministries, and for church leadership. I enthusiastically recommend this fun resort whose management and ownership is very sensitive to, and cooperative with, the needs of church congregations, staff, and leadership.
Thank you for a wonderful time!
